Typically an altar can be defined as any structure of earth or stone on which sacrifices are offered.
In this message we are going to be looking at how characteristics of the Old Testament Altars relate to us as New Testament Believers. We no longer need to sacrifice cute and cuddly animals on altars as an offering to God (whew)… Now we become the sacrifice. An altar for us is where we are altered, and transformed by Him.
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. (Romans 12:1)
